CCIM to provide visitors with ability to download music in November
Tuesday September 25, 2007
The next upgrade in the CCIM website capability is the option to listen to selections from an artist and/or CD. Visitors to the site will be able to download samples of artists' works as well as source their performances. This will provide a potential purchaser with the means to listen to the music and to make the decision to buy in the comfort of their own home or office. Links to artists' websites and the information on how and where to purchase the material will provide the final step in assisting artists with the sale of their recordings.
Artists and record production companies will be asked to submit a sample of the music on the site. The link will be associated with the title and site visitors will have the option of listening as well as to find out more about the recording itself. The music will be in a MP3 format and can be listened to on the site using Media Player.
CCIM has been working with CIRPA and CRIA to ensure that artists' interests are advanced while at the same time their rights are protected. "I think we have made tremendous strides in the past year in bringing artists performing in the instrumental genre to the attention of the listening public, programmers and purchasers. This next step, providing a listening option, will certainly enhance the goals of CCIM and ensure that these artists have the most effective marketing tool technology can provide" commented Vanessa Stubbs, CCIM Manager.
The enhancements are expected to be in beta test by the end of October and will be ready for release in the beginning of November, in time for the trade mission to Japan. Site design is being handled by Echnida Solutions Corp.
