CCIM debuts at the Toronto International Film Festival
Tuesday September 4, 2007
The Canadian Catalogue of Instrumental Music (CCIM) along with Canadian Independent Record Production Association (CIRPA), Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA), the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN), and the Canadian Music Publishers Association (CMPA) in association with the Government of Canada will be present at the third annual Canadian Music Café at the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival.
The Canadian music industry aims to create another dimension to an already thriving cultural event. For the Canadian Music Industry the Music Café offers an opportunity for Canadian artists and music companies to increase their exposure and access to the key decision makers in the international film community and to the international press and media, often considered the tastemakers in their respective markets.
CCIM will be part of the display at the Music Café and will participate in the annual "invitation only" pitch brunch bringing together key visiting US film, television music supervisors and festival organizers with export ready Canadian music companies who are CIRPA members.
The Catalogue of Canadian Instrumental Music is an online summary of Canadian artists and their recorded works. The availability of this catalogue is a first step in enabling the music, film, television and advertising industries to access and program instrumental music where the idea is to assist them to source Canadian choices. The catalogue is in the public domain, available through the internet and is independently organized and administered.
CCIM will be showcased at the Rivoli, site of the Music Café, September 11 to 13, 2007. The site can be accessed at www.instrumentalmusic.ca
